About Tervis Tumblers
- Q: I know Tervis Tumblers are tough, but what are
they made of?
A: Tervis Tumblers are made of a space-age polycarbonate,
the same amazing materials used in bulletproof shields, airplane windows and
even the Space Shuttle! The high-quality polycarbonate that goes into Tervis
Tumblers is more than TEN TIMES more impact-resistant than other plastics.
- Q: Why have Tervis Tumblers been so popular for so
long?
A: Tervis invented the insulated tumbler category back in
1946, and has led the way ever since with new products, innovations and
styles. But the secret of Tervis Tumblers remains the same – their
double-wall insulation keeps hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold by
harnessing the amazing insulation properties of air! Because they are so
well insulated, Tervis Tumblers don’t sweat like ordinary mugs or glasses
– which means they won’t leave condensation rings on your furniture. You
may never use coasters again!
- Q: I enjoy a cool drink by the pool. Are Tervis
Tumblers safe for outdoor use?
A: Tervis Tumblers aren’t just safe for outdoor use,
they’re perfect for it! Their durable construction makes them virtually
shatterproof, and if your Tervis Tumbler accidentally goes in the pool, you
won’t have to go diving for it – because Tervis Tumblers float as well!
Enjoy them by the pool, on the boat or on the golf course with confidence.
With optional travel lids, Tervis Tumblers can go practically anyplace you
do!
- Q: What makes Tervis Tumblers different from
cut-rate look-alikes?
A: Simple! Tervis Tumblers are better. That’s because of their
quality construction and their amazing lifetime guarantee. You see, unlike
less expensive imitators, Tervis Tumblers won’t break, scratch, warp or
discolor with use. Plus, you can customize Tervis Tumblers with your
favorite motif. We have hundreds to choose from, or you can even use your
own. Try doing that with an imitation!
- Q: With so many imitations out there, how can I
tell if I have a genuine Tervis Tumbler?
A: Like all quality products, just look for the name. All
Tervis Tumblers are proudly labeled with the Tervis name on the bottom of
each tumbler. If it doesn’t say Tervis, then it’s not a genuine Tervis
Tumbler – and it’s not the best!
- Q: It seems Tervis Tumblers have been around
forever. When were they invented, and what does the name mean?
A: Tervis Tumbler invented the insulated tumbler category
way back in 1946, an era of innovation and scientific advances that guides
Tervis Tumblers’ philosophy to this very day. The two engineers who
invented Tervis Tumblers, named Cotter and Davis, combined the last halves
of their last names and proudly named their amazing invention Tervis.
Dedicated to innovation and customer satisfaction, the principles that
guided the creation of Tervis Tumblers still dictate the way we do business.
- Q: I love my Tervis Tumbler, but what about when I
take my drink on the go?
A: Tervis Tumbler has you covered – literally!
Accessories for Tervis Tumblers include travel lids for all sizes (please
check for availability of lids for our 12-oz. and 17-oz. tumblers). We even
offer Tervis Toppers – a combination travel lid and straw that makes it
easy to handle that hot morning coffee behind the wheel, available for our
12-oz., 16-oz. and 17-oz. tumblers.
- Q: Can I wash my Tervis Tumblers in the
dishwasher? Can I use them in the microwave? How about the freezer?
A: Tervis Tumblers are tough enough to handle the dishwasher
without warping or discoloring. We recommend using the upper rack for best
results. The tough polycarbonate in Tervis Tumblers can handle any wash
cycle you throw at it! Plus, all Tervis Tumblers are freezer-safe, and all
tumblers without metallic emblems or logos are microwaveable as well. What
would an insulated tumbler be if you couldn’t chill it in the freezer or
heat it up in the microwave? An imitation, that’s what!
